45th Annual Fire Muster & Fire Fighter’s Family Day

Explore over 80 antique fire trucks from the Mid-Atlantic States on display throughout the WheatonArts campus! Now in its 45th year, the Fire Muster & Fire Fighter’s Family Day, presented by the Glasstown Antique Fire Brigade, takes place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday, August 16, 2026. Highlights include water pumping displays of fire hoses into the lake, a Firematic Flea Market, apparatus judging and awards presentation, and the dramatic exit of the fire trucks’ driving off the grounds at the end of the event.

Fire Muster is FREE and open to the public, part of WheatonArts Family Days, presented in part by PNC Arts Alive. All WheatonArts exhibitions and artist demonstrations are free for the day as well.

The Glasstown Antique Fire Brigade is the South Jersey chapter of the Society for the Preservation and Appreciation of Antique Motor Fire Apparatus in America (SPAAMFAA). This national organization of over 3,000 members and over 50 chapters was organized in 1958 in Syracuse, NY.

Flextangle Paper Toy

Straw Weaving: Chunky Bracelets
Learn a simple weaving technique while creating a bold and colorful bracelet! Using drinking straws and vibrant yarn, you will weave your own chunky bracelet that’s both fun to make and fun to wear.

Paper Beads
Turn ordinary paper into extraordinary jewelry! During this activity you will roll colorful paper into unique handmade beads before stringing them together to create a one-of-a-kind bracelet or necklace.

Firemen and Firetruck

Fused Glass Magnet, Pendant, or Suncatcher (fee-based)
Create a fused glass magnet, pendant, or suncatcher beginning with pre-fused glass blanks. Using small pre-cut pieces of glass and an assortment of accessory glass, including frit and stringers, create a design to be tack fused. After firing your fused glass, our artists will attach a bail, magnet, or leather cord, depending on your project choice. In one week, completed glass projects will be ready to pick up or ship (for a fee). This glass fusing activity has a discounted fee of $10 per magnet/pendant and $20 per suncatcher.
