Teaching Artist Proposals

Image of two children at a craft table. One child is sitting at the table and the other is standing. The sitting child is holding a pencil in one hand and is holding a paper steady of the table with the other. The standing child is holding a piece of paper with one hand. An instructor is gesturing towards the paper in the standing child's hand while both children are turned to listen to the instructor's comments. Also on the craft table is a large clear container of crayons, a blue container, three red cups filled with markers, and a sign that reads "Community Wings A Collaborative Art Project".

Welcome, teaching artists! Thank you for considering offering your educational expertise at WheatonArts. We’re excited to collaborate with creative minds like yours to enrich our educational programs. Whether you’re passionate about teaching a class focused on a medium you love, engaging with school groups, or leading intergenerational family workshops, there’s a place for you here.

The options for your engagement include but are not limited to:

  • Classes and Workshops: Tailored to your passions and expertise in specific mediums, these fee-based workshops are developed by you, allowing for creative freedom and innovation.
  • School Group Classes: Engaging 45-minute sessions designed for 3rd to 12th-grade students.
  • Enhanced Group Classes: Classes are offered in various mediums, creative processes, and flexible durations to cater to youth groups and occasionally adults.
  • Family Art Workshops: Immersive, intergenerational, one-hour walk-in workshops designed for families to explore and create together.
  • Special Event Family Art Activities: Guiding outdoor crafting activities where participants make and take home their creations.
  • Glass Fusing Activity: Walk-in glass fusing experiences lasting 30 minutes to one hour for all ages during special events. Responsibilities include activity supervision and managing Square payment processing. Applicants must be at least 18 years old.

We would love to hear from you if you are interested in offering a class or workshop that you have developed. We’re eager to receive your proposals and collaborate on expanding our educational programs.
