My journey as an artist has taken a great many turns throughout my life but once I was introduced to clay as an Art Major at Hunter College in NYC, it always stayed within me. I first started as a art teacher, then a porcelain technician, and finally a dentist. Clay was in the background but I’d find a way to go back to it as often as I could. It has been my creative outlet; my enduring passion. When my family and I left NYC and bought a home upstate, I built my fantasy studio as soon as I could. With a wheel, kiln, glazes, and clay I could practice and grow beyond what I thought was possible. My work has evolved to be both artistic and functional. The majority is wheel thrown but I also do slab pieces. I use a hybrid clay called Laguna B Mix, white stoneware, and colored porcelain for Agate ware. I love to gather my inspiration from the world around me and especially museums. I will continue to grow as an artist and a person for as long as I can.
