Stephanie Baness received her Bachelor of Fine Arts from Mundelein College in Chicago and her Master of Liberal Arts at the University of Chicago. After a detour into the legal field, she left her career to study glass at Sheridan College in Oakville, Ontario. Upon completion of her glass studies, she opened Moxie Sorbet Designs, a fused glass studio located in Passaic, New Jersey

Moxie Sorbet Designs is a fused glass studio that specializes in handmade glass accessories for the home. The process of creating a glass piece begins with hand cutting sheet glass into a base form. Accents are added using frit (chunks of glass), scrap sheet glass and/or powdered glass. Each piece is then put in the kiln to be fused, usually a 9-12 hour cycle. After fusing, the pieces are cold worked by hand and put back in the kiln to be slumped into or draped over molds. The final step involves lightly hand sanding any sharp edges, polishing, and cleaning the glass.
