PAUL J. STANKARD EXHIBIT OPENS

“MASTERY IN GLASS: THE JOURNEY OF PAUL J. STANKARD” EXHIBIT OPENS IN THE GALLERY OF FINE CRAFT AT WHEATONARTS

MILLVILLE, NJ (April 1, 2017)– The Gallery of Fine Craft at WheatonArts opens a new exhibit, “Mastery in Glass: The Journey of Paul J. Stankard,” on April 1. The show continues through May 7. This exhibit celebrates the mastery of glass artist Paul J. Stankard. Paul’s love of nature perfectly harmonizes with his exceptional execution of technique. With work spanning over 40 years, Paul’s creative journey has evolved along with its complexity and depth. Join us as we examine Paul’s early experimental works from his own personal collection as well as his newest series of Orbs, celebrating the healing virtues of plants and creativity. Over 60 paperweights and orbs will be on display and for sale.

On Saturday, April 8, Stankard will demonstrate his art for visitors in the Glass Studio at 1 p.m. A “Meet the Artist” reception follows the demonstration from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Admission to this event is free and open to the public.

Many people know Stankard as an acclaimed international artist and a living master in the art of the paperweight but they might not know that he is also an accomplished author. Paul’s latest book, “Studio Craft as Career: A Guide to Achieving Excellence in Art-Making” is available for sale in the Gallery of Fine Craft.
