Joan of Art, Designs
When I graduated college with an art degree, I knew that I wanted to live and work as an artist. By happenstance, I started making wire people earrings that resembled Keith Haring figures. My business was born. I was now Joan of Art.
I then needed to learn metals, as I was a painting major in college. I went to Rowan College and learned metals from Ben Gilliam where I realized that I had found my true medium. From this point, I expanded my line of work. I originally only wholesaled, but after having my family I went to jury shows. I now mostly do one of a kind pieces with a few exceptions. I won Best Fine Craft Artist last year at the Chestnut Hill Fall for the Arts Craft show. Almost 30 years later, I still love what I do and want to grow as an artist.
