Greg LaPlaca began working with clay in 1993, developing a passion for pottery that quickly shaped his artistic path. In 2000, he accepted a position as a production potter at Rowe Pottery Works in Cambridge, Wisconsin, where he significantly refined and strengthened his wheel-throwing skills.

In 2002, Greg returned to the Jersey Shore and established his own studio, LaPlaca Pottery Works, in Point Pleasant, New Jersey. Nature remains his greatest source of inspiration, and his studio’s location—just blocks from the ocean and only a few miles from dense wooded areas—has had a lasting influence on his work.

At LaPlaca Pottery Works, Greg creates a wide range of both functional and sculptural pieces. He is especially known for his whimsical holiday items and distinctive face jugs.
