June 19 through July 17, 2019
Wednesdays & Saturdays
11 a.m. to 12 p.m.
In the Museum of American Glass Courtyard (entrance is located inside of the Museum)
All sound vibrations affect the body on the cellular level. Certain sound frequencies are now proven to heal on that same level, especially when combined with mindfulness meditation.
Interested in the process of navigating the personal guilt of taking time for self-care in an increasingly demanding world, current Creative Glass Fellow, Sarah Max Beck, is creating an installation and performance around a series of her meditation singing bowls. Visitors are invited to collaborate on the art installation and enjoy the guided meditation.
The first 15 minutes will be open for participants to set their intention for the subsequent meditation by offering a note on a piece of paper or a personal item, such as a stone, leaf or feather, to an offering alter made by the artist. In this way, the installation will build until the last performance on July 17, 2019.
A mat or something to sit on and loose/comfortable clothing is recommended. One hour in total, all meditation levels are welcomed to join!
