My name is Eric Sarachman, and I currently work as a staff member in the WheatonArts Glass Studio. I’ve been blowing glass for almost four years now, starting in undergrad at Ball State University and then at WheatonArts in September 2020. I’ve always felt most satisfied when I’m making things or attempting to create, and WheatonArts has given me an amazing opportunity for creative expression and the ability to refine my craft as a glassmaker.
At this time, my work has a strong focus on technique and craft. My current goal as a glassmaker is to improve my skills and expand my technical repertoire to create aesthetically beautiful pieces with regard to color, symmetry, and proportion. I believe it is important for humans to add something to the world rather than to simply consume it. Glassmaking has given me a way to satisfy my creative ambitions while adding a little bit of beauty to our world. I hope my pieces speak volumes without saying a word.
