Alexis Fiorelli is a Philly based glass artist, who attended Tyler School of Art and architecture. She first became interested in glass as a way to connect to her family history of glass work. Her Great Great Grandfather was the owner and operator or a glass factory in West Virginia called The Alley Agate Company. However, after taking one class in college she knew it was what she was meant to do.
Her passion for glass is in the material its self; from Casting to Coldworking. However with a background in both Graphic design and glass she often uses her knowledge computer programs to create ideas and work. A great example of this is in her casted mountain stem wine glasses she 3D modeled and CNC carved her own graphite mold to create the mountains for those stems. Always trying to learn new things, try new techniques. Every element of every piece she creates is made by her.
