I create images that celebrate the spirit and beauty of the American Landscape, and like my father before me, photography is my passion and my career. I favor a fine art style, choosing to appeal to buyers of framed photography. I was taught by my mentor the true understanding of light, because the only thing that film emulsion or digital sensors record is light levels. My mentor also taught me about the relationships of lines, forms and colors within the viewfinder. I seek to create pictures in camera, opting not to digitally alter them afterwards. I process everything in Adobe Lightroom, and I apply controls in a sensible, subtle, meaningful manner. I rarely use Photoshop as I prefer to keep my images as natural as possible. My photographs retain their natural realism at the moment of capture, which is the premise of a traditional photograph.
