Preceding my deep dive into the art show circuit, I attended Skidmore College for a BS and SUNY New Paltz for an MFA. In 1996 my journey began at the ACC West Springfield, MA show, and then expanded through out the Northeast and Southwest Florida. I started out as a single person studio and that is still true today.
Using sterling silver and 14k gold to create classic contemporary, geometric point of view, the work emphasizes clean lines and contrasts: gold versus silver, angles against arches. Colored freshwater pearls are used creating visual points of interest and mood within the constructs. Each piece is hand constructed, torch soldered using acetylene and oxi-acetylene gas. Finishing is achieved with hand files, machine buff, and finally ceramic and steel shot tumble. Jewelry at its core is about adornment; that basic truth is always integrated in my artistic process. It is not ever just about the work, but also how the work melds with the wearer.
