I am a minimalist interested in making bold statement jewelry, and create my beaded dimensional forms using hundreds of Japanese and Czech glass beads stitched together one bead at a time with needle and a very strong, durable thread. My personal palette is inspired by metallics, natural materials, and earth colors. I often combine my favorite geometric forms with natural and industrial materials including wood, clay, metal, rubber, petrified cactus, horn, and vintage lucite. Personal adornment is something to be seen and experienced by both the wearer and viewer, but mostly I want wearers of my beadwork to feel fierce, elegant and unique. I’m proud to be a Master Artisan with the PA Guild of Craftsmen and my local chapter of the guild, where I am VP of Standards.
Lucky me that my “day jobs” have been within the bead world alongside my personal creative journey. Since 2005 I’ve been an editor in chief, technical editor and illustrator, have appeared in numerous online videos, and on television in the US and the UK. My designs have been published as tutorials in just about every bead magazine as well as for sale at shows under my Sleepless Beader(TM) brand. Most recently I retired from a decade as Creative Director for a bead and jewelry making tool global distributor.
