Mayan Traje: A Tradition in Transition

This exhibition features masterpieces of fiber arts created by Guatemalan Maya artists over a hundred years till modern days. The artworks present some of the finest examples of Guatemalan weaving and embroidery while showcasing various techniques and materials employed in the creative process. They also illustrate how changes in designs and the adoption of new materials have become a part of the Mayan living traditions and have helped maintain their vitality over time.
