New Jersey-based nature artist, Alexis Flack, creates tree print paintings inspired by encounters with the natural world by printing cross sections of fallen trees, leaves, and flowers. She transforms these prints into paintings telling stories using acrylic and watercolor paints, as well as the cyanotype process. Her tree print paintings often feature gardens, constellations, gatherings of plants and insects or birds, as well as figure drawings, to encourage people to actively connect with the Earth, sea, and sky. Alexis built her printing and painting skills through formal classroom instruction at institutions like the Fleisher Art Memorial and informal plein air painting sessions. Her paintings have been included in juried exhibitions in New Jersey, and sold in galleries in New Jersey and Washington, D.C.
