New Jersey-based nature artist, Alexis Flack, creates tree print paintings. Her curiosity about nature has always led her into forests and gardens, onto beaches, and across meadows looking for plants and animals. Alexis creates art from what she encounters by printing cross sections of fallen trees, leaves, flowers, and other elements of nature. Then, using acrylic and watercolor paints, she develops these prints into paintings telling stories and encouraging viewers to take an active role as stewards of the Earth.

Alexis has built her painting skills through instruction in formal classroom settings and informal painting sessions. The desire to continually learn more was part of her original career as a middle school teacher, during which she applied her Master of Education to create activities with artistic components for students. Alexis sees nature art as a way for people to learn about the world around them so they can actively take care of it. She continues to teach today and facilitates nature art workshops for children and adults in Atlantic, Cape May, and Monmouth Counties. Lastly, tree print paintings created by Alexis have been sold in galleries in New Jersey and Washington, D.C., in art fairs and markets in the South Jersey community. They have been included in several juried exhibits and shows with organizations in New Jersey, Connecticut, and Washington, D.C.
