K.V. Mahabala

K.V. MahabalaK.V. Mahabala discovered his aptitude for music in childhood. His first teacher in Sitar was Sri Yoga Narasimha, an eminent musician based in Mysore, India. Following his initial musical education with him, K.V. Mahabala furthered his musical career in New Delhi, the Capital City of India. There, he studied with Pandit Uma Shankar Mishra, a student of the legendary Pandit Ravi Shankar, a renowned Sitarist in his own right. When he migrated to United States in 1992, his passion for music was enhanced by Sri Kinnar Seen – a well-known Sitarist based in New York. K.V. Mahabala has performed several concerts such as the ones hosted by the Lotus School of Music, Sadarang School of Music, The New School, East-West School of Dance & the Knitting Factory.
