
Open Late for Two Wheaton Wednesdays!
Millville, NJ (June 27, 2025) – WheatonArts and Cultural Center is offering two free late Wednesdays this summer on July 16 and August 20. Experience the grounds for the extended hours of 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. There will be free art activities for the whole family to enjoy and design contests in the Glass and Pottery Studios. Step inside the Museum of American Glass for special exhibit tours, visit the Folklife Center for special programming, participate in a campus-wide scavenger hunt, hear live music, enjoy a bite to eat, and more. Wheaton Wednesday dates are FREE to the public, part of WheatonArts Family Days! Presented by PNC Arts Alive!
Wheaton Wednesday highlights on July 16 and August 20 include:
- Enjoy free family art activities such as Chalktopia, Yarn Art, 3D Doodle Art, and Cardboard Loom Summer Friendship Bracelets.
- Make your own fused glass magnet, pendant, or suncatcher in the Education Studio (Fee-based activity).
- Explore the current exhibit at the Down Jersey Folklife Center! Communities and Cultures of Down Jersey features a cross-cultural exploration of folk and traditional arts as associated with their ethnic, occupational, and regional versions.
- Join us for Artistic Expressions of Immigrant Experiences and Cultural Heritage in the Down Jersey Folklife Center! On July 16, there will be Indian Henna and Visual Arts and Music demonstrations. On August 20, there will be Chinese Brush Painting, Indian Batik Painting, and Indian Folk Dance demonstrations.
- Design a monster in the Glass Studio, and our Glass Studio Team will sculpt select designs out of molten glass!
- Submit a bird bath design on July 16 for our ceramic artists to make! At the end of the day, one adult and one child design will be picked to be reproduced in clay.
- Submit a jack-o-lantern design on August 20 for our ceramic artists to make! At the end of the day, one adult and one child design will be picked to be reproduced in clay.
- Visit the Paper Studio on July 16 for gel plate printing and on August 20 to decorate paper for cards.
- Visit the Museum for special tours of the new exhibitions, Transformations: The Wasserstein Collection of Contemporary Glass and redundancies, curated by David Schnuckel
- Trunk Shows in the Gallery of Fine Craft by Flamework Artists Chris Coffman and Susan Boyce
- “Holiday Preview” Trunk Show in the General Store by Flamework Artist Bill Futer on July 16.
- Trunk Show in the General Store by Flamework Artist Deb DiMarco on August 20.
