Kites fly to the heavens to ward off evil spirits who may disturb our dead ancestors and invite them to visit us. Their sizes vary from 6 to 52 feet in diameter, as well as their designs & decoration. The kites created during this residency will become a part of a special Day of the Dead art installation during WheatonArts HalloWheaton event on Saturday, Oct. 29.
