Florance and Leah
My leather jewelry reflects the importance of connections, each of my designs has to connect to key places to support the leather. The challenge is making the connections look seamless and elegant, I have found that life itself is that way, a series of connections.
My leather jewelry started with a pair of beautiful leather pants that no longer fit. One day I decided to make them useful – Voila! Up Cycled leather Jewelry! With one snip of the scissors, I was hooked. I love the feel of the leather in my hands and its endless possibilities. Each piece is meticulously cut by hand with an Exacto knife and scissors. I paint one side with a metallic paint because I want the contrast to wear the piece with dark or light outfits.
I’ve always been an artist, and I studied children’s book illustration and graphic design at Hussian School Of Art in Philadelphia and Fashion Design at Kent State in Ohio. After spending many years living in Philadelphia, I have returned to being a Jersey Girl, now residing in Sewell with my wonderful husband, 2 bad dogs, and a mediocre cat.
