Saturday Morning Story Circle

Story Circle at WheatonArts Saturday Mornings, 10:30am

April through December

Join us every Saturday morning at 10:30 a.m. in the lobby of the Museum of American Glass at WheatonArts for Story Circle!  Enjoy a reading of one of our favorite children’s books followed by “create your own story cubes”, a hands-on art making activity. Two versions of “create your own story cubes” will be available.

Create Your Own Story Cube

Design your own story cube based off of the story we just heard (and practice your comprehension skills). Each participant will receive a story cube template with 6 squares/sides. Draw a picture on each side that represents a part of the story you just heard. When you complete all sides you will have a cube that is a visual representation of the story.

Create Your Own Story Cubes:
A Creative Storytelling Game

Using stickers and the provided templates, families will create four story cubes. Once the cubes have stickers on all six sides and are cut out and taped, they can be used as dice. To play the game, participants take turns rolling the four dice. They will then begin telling a story that links all four images together. Create your stories individually or work as a team to create a story!

Story Circle is recommended for children up to 12 years of age.

There is no charge to shop, stroll, and visit Story Circle on the Museum porch or lobby except during the Festival of Fine Craft, October 6 & 7, 2018. To explore the Museum and Artists Studios, a general admission ticket will be required.
