Wheaton Arts and Cultural Center is thrilled to celebrate its 50th-Anniversary as one of the most unusual and creative landmarks in the Northeast!

Founded by glass magnate Frank H. Wheaton Jr. to be a turn of the 20th-century glass town destination, the first WheatonArts buildings opened to the public in 1970. Fifty years later, WheatonArts has become an international hub for artists exploring the limits of their creativity and a reception for the region’s cultural diversity. It has additionally earned regional, national, and international recognition for its unique collections and programs.

In light of the COVID-19 pandemic temporarily closing our doors in 2020, many of our highlighted events related to our 50th-Anniversary have been canceled or postponed for later dates. While we are challenged by these changing times, we are continuing to do our best to connect and engage our community of artists, youth, patrons, and the public in meaningful ways.

Our mission to engage artists and audiences in an evolving exploration of creativity becomes even more essential with the significant role that art holds in our daily lives.
