Gentle Yoga: Level 1 (6 sessions)

“A Holistic Approach to Gentle Yoga Teachings.” This class is designed to promote wellness while educating individuals about the body’s role in reducing tension by developing greater body awareness and techniques for improved relaxation. During this class participants will learn the basic principles of yoga, focusing on body awareness, breathing, stretching, flexibility and relaxation techniques. Surrender to breath and movement while balancing body, mind and spirit with yoga postures and guided meditation.

Give glassblowing a try! This class will teach students the fundamentals of working with molten glass. Learn how to make cups, vases and bowls as well as how to grind and polish your work in our cold shop. On the last night of class a hands on demo will be presented by a Wheaton Arts Gaffer, and YOU will help him make his work! Come be a part of the glassblowing community!
No experience necessary.

Introduction To Fusing and Slumping Register Online>>
Wednesdays, September 8 to October 6 (5 sessions)

Fusing is the process of cutting sheet glass, assembling layers of glass and melting it in a kiln. Students will explore the possibilities of using colorful flat glass to compose painterly images and abstract patterns. Glass slumping is the process of bending sheets of glass using various molds and materials in a kiln at a lower temperature. Students will use slumping techniques to design various sculptural forms and functional wares.

This class will instruct the beginning bead maker in a variety of techniques and processes to create colorful, beautiful glass
beads. Students will get acquainted with the torch and the tools used in glass bead making while learning pattern and shaping techniques. Class time will include demonstrations and plenty of time for students to make their own creations.

Beginning Stained Glass Register Online>>

Participants will make geometric sun catchers while learning about the history of stained glass, how to cut stained glass, and basic design techniques. They’ll also learn how to create their own stained glass projects (geometric sun-catchers) using the copper foil technique. No prior experience necessary. All materials and use of tools are included.

Art of Mosaic: Frames and Flower Pots Register Online>>

Mosaics are known for their beauty, durability, historic and cultural significance. In this class, participants will learn the direct mosaic method by creating patterns of images from small pieces of ceramic and glass fragments. They will learn about the techniques of the mosaic—design, cutting, gluing, and grouting applications as well as tips on design and using various materials to enhance projects. No previous experience is required.

Hot Glass Pumpkins! Register Online>>

Do you want fun, decorative, harvest fruit that stays fresh all year long? Well, come join us and blow your own glass pumpkins! In this three week workshop, students will learn a variety of techniques to create their very own collection of this popular October
squash. Using varying steel molds and special color combinations, students will learn how to twist and swirl hot glass into creative and unique pumpkin shapes!
Prerequisite: None.

Sign up with a partner for WheatonArts open blow time. If you’ve taken two or more glassblowing classes, you and a friend can sign up for bench time. This time is for you to create anything that your heart desires, in glass! An instructor will be on hand to assist in any way that you may need. After you sign up for your first five-slot session, you may sign up for individual sessions.
Prerequisite: Two or more glassblowing classes, or permission from the instructor.

Tuesdays, November 2 & 9 (2 sessions)

Materials fee: $15

Participants will carve their own Spotted Sandpiper, a shore bird indigenous to South Jersey. Students will first learn to make a pattern, to place it in a carving position, and to carve the body shape of the bird out of basswood. Between sessions participants will be asked to seal the body parts and paint them with a base coating. In the second session students will lay out feather patterns, paint and mount  them to a special base. No previous experience is required.

Colorful and fast-paced, glass ornaments are an exciting way to enhance your glass skills and create unique gifts/keepsakes for the holidays! A variety of colorful surface, and interior, designs will be explored in this three-week intensive. Students will also explore the optic mold as well as “alternative” shapes to give their ornaments their own creative twists!
Prerequisite: None.
