WHEATONARTS RECEIVES PNC ARTS ALIVE GRANT TO SUPPORT “FAMILY FUN DAYS”
MILLVILLE, NJ – WheatonArts has been selected to receive a grant of $25,000 from PNC Arts Alive, a five-year, $5-million grant initiative of the PNC Foundation to support “Family Fun Days,” a new program designed to encourage local family audiences to become active arts participants in 2010.
WheatonArts and PNC Arts Alive, in response to the current economic climate, will offer free admission to all children 17 and under for twenty-eight Sundays beginning June 6 at the WheatonArts’ Fantasy Faire. “Family Fun Days” activities include diverse arts/cultural programming, changing hands-on activities, a variety of indoor/outdoor events, exhibits, dance and music performances, and artist demonstrations. With the art of glassmaking as the backdrop, the program’s goal is to provide both familiar and exciting new arts experiences for all ages.
PNC Arts Alive is a very prestigious grant award. WheatonArts was one of only twenty-seven arts organizations in the Philadelphia and Southern New Jersey region selected in year-two to receive a grant for bold thinking around increasing access to the arts.
“The PNC Foundation has a long history of providing grants to non-profit organizations that strengthen and enrich the lives of our neighbors,” said Bill Mills, regional president of PNC for Philadelphia and Southern New Jersey. “We understand the valuable return that investing in the arts can deliver. Today more than ever, the businesses we attract, the jobs we create and the visitors who extend their stay are drawn by what the Greater Philadelphia and Southern New Jersey region has to offer.”
PNC Arts Alive is a five-year, $5 million investment from the PNC Foundation that supports visual and performing arts groups with the goal of increasing arts access and engagement. For more information on PNC Arts Alive and the grant recipients visit www.PNCARTSALIVE.com.
