Fall
and winter season at wheatonarts FEATURES a
variety of EXHIBITS, programs and special offers
MILLVILLE, NJ – In addition to the variety of
exhibits, programs and activities offered in October, November and December,
WheatonArts has announced two special admission discounts.“Senior Tuesdays,” which
began October 7, will continue through December 30. Senior adults receive half
off one senior admission ticket. Families benefit every Sunday during these
three months as well. All children 17 and under are admitted free when accompanied
by a paying adult.

Peterson, WheatonArts Marketing and Public Relations Director, explained, “We
have several wonderful programs and activities scheduled during the next three
months for our visitors. Our admission discounts provide an opportunity for the
public to experience WheatonArts during these challenging times.”
WheatonArts
is home to the Museum of American Glass, with the most comprehensive collection of American
glass in the country, the Creative Glass Center of America, a fellowship program
for international artists working in glass, and the Down Jersey Folklife Center
which showcases the various ethnic and occupational groups that define the
region through changing exhibits and displays. The visitor experience also includes
artist demonstrations in the Glass, Ceramic, Flameworking and Woodcarving
Studios. The museum stores feature one-of-a-kind, handcrafted gifts in all
media. The “Make Your Own” programs (fee based and appointments required) provide
visitors an opportunity to create a paperweight, blow a bowl or vase form and make
beads. Also, WheatonArts presents special exhibitions in the Museum of American
Glass, Down Jersey Folklife Center and The Gallery of Fine Craft throughout the
year.

■ “Treasures From The Collection:
Museum of American Glass” and “Tracing The Cultural Roots” in the Museum of
American Glass. “Holiday Treasures” in the Special Exhibition Gallery opens
November 25.
■ “Crafts of India” in The Gallery of
Fine Craft is extended through December 31.
■ “Living Traditions Portrayed: Indian
Folk Arts and Crafts” in the Down Jersey Folklife Center
continues through
December 31.

■ Fenton Art Glass Family Signing
Event on October 25 in the Brownstone Emporium. 11 a.m. to
3 p.m. Free admission. Tom Fenton,
former vice president of the Fenton Art Glass Company, will sign visitors’ Fenton purchases. Fenton’s
exclusive 2008 Signing Event item, a 4” Fabergé Rose Bowl in Blue Lagoon
Opalescent (a new color), is available for purchase prior to and during the

■ Open
Studio with the Creative Glass Center of America Fellows Kait Rhoads from
Seattle, WA,
and Marc Barreda from Kennett Square, PA. November 7
at 7 p.m. Demonstration of glassmaking techniques in the Glass Studio. Free
admission. Light refreshments.
■ Design A Glass Ornament. November 28 through
December 17. Glass Studio. A grand prize
winner will be selected
from the winning designs. Winning designs will be created on December 20 and 21.
■ Crescent Moon Clothing Trunk Show in
the Brownstone Emporium. November 28, 29 and 30.

selection of wearables by designer Gretchen Hulse. Free admission.
■ Dawn Bergmaier Jewelry Trunk Show in
the Brownstone Emporium. November 28, 29 and 30.

■ “World’s Largest Ornament” November
29 and 30. Watch artist Deborah Czeresko and her team attempt to create the
world’s largest glass ornament.
■ “Big Glass Sundays” in December.
Watch Deborah Czeresko create large-scale sculptural seasonal objects like
snowmen, reindeer, dreidels and icicles in the Glass Studio.
■ Holiday Studio Sale (Glass and
Pottery). November 28, 29, 30, December 6 and 7 in the Event Center. 30 to 70
percent off WheatonArts seconds, overstocks and prototypes, pottery by
WheatonArts resident ceramic artist Terry Plasket and studio glass by artists
Melanie Guernsey and David Leppla. Free admission to the sale. Receive a free
gift with a purchase of $25.00 or more. First come, first served. Quantities
are limited.
WheatonArts
admission: Adults $10.00, $9.00 Senior Adults and $7.00 Students. Children five
and under are free. Free to shop and stroll except during outdoor special
events.
Family Season Pass: $55.00 (one year free
admission for two adults and all children under 18 living in the same
household). Call the Development Office at extension 110 to learn about the
benefits of membership.
