The GlassWorks OF MILLVILLE and
Alcan Donate $15,000 to WHEATONARTS
Millville, NJ – Alcan Global Manufacturing, in
conjunction with The GlassWorks of Millville, recently donated $15,000 to
Wheaton Arts and Cultural Center. Owners of The GlassWorks, the recently
renamed campus headquarters to Wheaton Industries, purchased furnishings and
other items from Alcan as part of its sale of the 1101 Wheaton Avenue property
with the understanding that WheatonArts would receive the $15,000 proceeds.
Building owners James
Preziosi, Ken Pustizzi and Dr. James TenBrook, are committed to preserving the
history of the area landmark, which they purchased last year. In addition to
the cash donation Alcan, the new owners and WheatonArts agreed that the stained
glass artwork will remain at the facility and is donated in place to
WheatonArts.
"This donation
to WheatonArts is one of the ways to ensure the building's artifacts remain
recognized and respected by those who work at or visit the property," Ken
Pustizzi said on behalf of his partner owners.
Susan Gogan, WheatonArts Executive Director, said,
“The donation made possible by the furniture purchase will be used primarily
for glass studio operations, in honor of WheatonArts founder Frank Wheaton Jr.'s
inspiration, illustrated so beautifully in the windows."
"This creative
collaboration of Alcan and The GlassWorks, is a wonderful example of community
leaders working together to give visibility to the value of our glassmaking
heritage and to WheatonArts as the primary custodian of this important legacy,"
Gogan explained.
The GlassWorks, a
multi-tenant facility, now serves as an office center that soon expects to
have amenities
including a day care, health and fitness center and onsite food services.
Current tenants include the building owners and their companies. They include
Ken Pustizzi, president and CEO of Trico Lift, Dr. James TenBrook, president
and CEO of TenBrook Corporation and TenBrook Orthodontics, and Jim Preziosi,
CPA, of Preziosi Nicholson & Associates PA. Other current tenants are Alcan
Global Manufacturing, Inc., Geo-Marine, Inc., Kuhar Consulting and Superior
Walls.
WheatonArts is the
home of the Museum of American Glass, Down Jersey Folklife Center, Creative Glass Center
of America Fellowship Program, Ceramic, Flameworking, Glass and Woodcarving Studios
and award winning museum stores. For more information call 800-998-4552 or
