wheatonarts - a unique shopping destination for the holiday season

MILLVILLE, NJ This holiday season the Museum Stores at WheatonArts will be open seven days a week beginning November 23 and continuing through December 31. Each store offers an assortment of handmade craft, personal service, a knowledgeable staff, free boxes and bows, and 3½ percent sales tax.

The Gallery of Fine Craft at WheatonArts presents, "The Handcrafted Gift: 11th Annual Holiday Exhibition," November 3 - December 24. The show presents unique, finely crafted gifts and treasures for everyday living. Featured artists Elaine and Bill Snell of Elliott Metal Works, Greenville, SC, offer distinctive metal art ornaments, wall pieces and freestanding works for the home and garden.

A new boutique featuring handmade wearable art and accessories from American craft artists and Fair Trade Federation artists from around the world has transformed the Brownstone Emporium at WheatonArts into a personal shopping "must" this holiday season. Hand-painted silk scarves, leather and fabric pocketbooks from evening to travel, jewelry, designer belts, gloves and hats from recycled wool, handmade clothing, pillows, silk baby booties, lavender spa wraps, colorful umbrellas, headbands, jewelry rolls, cosmetic bags and other personal accessories fill the room.

Featured wearable designer Gretchen Hulse of Crescent Moon Clothing displays her most popular selections including her "Twisted" tunic. Handknit scarves by WheatonArts sales associate, Helga Ricci, are also available.

The Gallery of Fine Craft and Brownstone Emporium join Niche Magazine's “Top Retailers Award” winning General Store, Arthur Gorham Paperweight Shop and Christmas Shop as destination shopping during the holiday season.

Also, the annual Holiday Studio Sale in the Event Center offers WheatonArts prototypes, seconds and overstocks, studio glass by Melanie Guernsey and David Leppla, and a wide selection of pottery by WheatonArts artist, Terry Plasket, at discounts of 30 to 70 percent. Hours: November 23, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; November 24, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; November 25, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.; December 1, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; and December 2, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Visitors will receive a free gift with a purchase of $25.00 or more. Quantities are limited. No admission ticket is required to attend the Studio Sale only.

No admission ticket is required to visit the museum stores only. Hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. WheatonArts will be closed Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day and New Year’s Day.
