INTERNATIONAL GALLERIES, ARTISTS, CURATORS, AND COLLECTORS GATHER FOR GLASSWEEKEND ‘07 AT WHEATONARTS
Guest artists are Laura Donefer from
Twenty internationally respected art galleries show the
most current work of over 200 professional artists working in glass today. It
is considered one of the most extensive presentations of museum quality glass
vessels and sculpture assembled in one location. The exhibiting galleries are:

artist demonstrations take place over the weekend on a rotating schedule in the
Glass Studio. Past guest artists include Dale Chihuly, Lino Tagliapietra,
Bertil Vallien, Stephen Powell, Richard Marquis, Martin Blank, Einar and Jamex
de la Torre, Therman Statom, Kjell Engman, Richard Jolley, Dante Marioni, and
Janusz Pozniak.
Three-day
event registrants benefit from an extensive programming schedule. The weekend
begins with a Friday evening preview reception in the Event Center, continues
with a reception and dinner in the
Day visitors are welcome on July 14 and
15. Admission: $10.00 Adults, $9.00 Senior Adults, and $7.00 Students. Children
five and under are free. WheatonArts and the Glass Studio demonstrations are
included in the price of admission. There is an additional charge of $6.00 per
person to visit the galleries in the
The Glass Studio demonstration schedule
on July 14 is 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. On July 15 it is 11 a.m.
to 4 p.m.
The
proceeds of GlassWeekend benefit the Creative Glass Center of America Fellowship Program at
WheatonArts, providing working fellowships to twelve individual artists from
around the world each year. Additionally, as the event’s co-presenter, the Art
Alliance for Contemporary Glass dedicates a portion of the proceeds to help
fund museum exhibitions that further the development and appreciation of art
made from glass.
