Jewelry Making with Alyce Laufer – November 17
and December 1. 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. This is one

Jersey Folklife
Center. Class Level:
Beginners and Intermediate. Class Size: Ten adults (families welcomed if children

In the second session participants will design their own jewelry (earrings,

included in the registration fee: beading thread, bendable wire, clasps, handmade
glass beads. Registration Fee: $35.00 (kit

sessions.
Laufer attended Salem Community
College for basic glass working. She spends most
of her weekends at the WheatonArts Glass Studio making beads. She wanted to
work in glass but in smaller quantities than the Studio glassblowers. After
making about ten pounds of beads, she realized she needed to do something with
them so she started to make jewelry. Her designs are mostly inspired by flow of
life and nature or by other bead artists’ works and combinations of colors.
