AT WHEATON VILLAGE’S PAPERWEIGHT FEST 2006
MILLVILLE, NJ – Wheaton Village, in association with the Delaware Valley Paperweight Collectors Association, presents Paperweight Fest 2006, May 18 – 21.
The event is designed to appeal to paperweight enthusiasts from novices to long time collectors.
Highlights include an exhibit and sale by a select group of paperweight dealers, artists and galleries, demonstrations by today’s leading glass artists, lectures and presentations by experienced artists and knowledgeable experts, live auctions, Artist Lunch and Learn sessions, and raffle prizes. Fest registrants will be able to participate in hands-on experiences in the Glass Studio, making a paperweight or bead or blowing into a bowl or vase form.

Demonstrations “Devils Fire,” “Ship” and “Umbrella” paperweights by Wheaton Village artists Joe Mattson and Don Friel.
In addition, a memorial exhibit of the collection of the late William Drew Gaskill, president, Paperweight Collectors Association, Inc., will be on view in the Museum of American Glass. His entire collection of over 1,500 paperweights will be shown as he had it arranged in his home.

Participants must be registered to attend lectures and some demonstrations. Registration also includes expanded access to the exhibit and sale area and some meals. Participants may register for the entire event or a single day. Full event registration is $225.00 for members (register by March 1: $202.50) and $250.00 for non-members (register by March 1: $225.00). Single-day registration is $125 (dinner is not included on May 20).
The exhibit and sale in the Event Center and the Glass Studio Demo Jam will be open to the public on May 20. The Glass Studio demonstrations on Sunday will also be open to day visitors.
