Holiday Fun For Everyone!

WHEATONARTS OFFERS A HOST OF HOLIDAY ACTIVITIES

MILLVILLE, NJWheatonArts will offer a host of special holiday activities for visitors during November and December.

New in the Glass Studio this year is an “Ornament Design Competition” designed for children of all ages. All of the designs will be displayed from November 1 through December 21 which is the last day of submission. The WheatonArts artists will create the winning designs on December 23. First prize is WheatonArts glass valued at $500; second prize WheatonArts glass valued at $300; and third prize WheatonArts glass valued at $200. Each prize winner will receive their ornament. In addition, from November 25 through December 24, the studio artists will create holiday ornaments and icicles every Saturday and Sunday except during the daily 11 a.m., 1:30 and 3:30 p.m. narrated shows.

Most importantly, Deborah Czeresko, a former Creative Glass Center of America Fellow, and the Wheaton Arts studio artists will attempt to create the world’s largest glass ornament on December 2 and 3 and December 9 and 10, from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

November activities include:

Holiday Studio Sale - November 24 (10 a.m. to 7 p.m.), November 25 (10 a.m. to 3 p.m.), November 26 (10 a.m. to 5 p.m.), December 2 (10 a.m. to 5 p.m.) and December 3 (10 a.m. to 5 p.m.). No admission ticket required to attend. Featured items include: WheatonArts overstocks, prototypes and seconds; work by WheatonArts ceramic artist, Terry Plasket; and work by studio artists Melanie and David Leppla. Items are reduced 30 to 70 percent. A glass snowflake will be given to anyone who makes a purchase of $25.00 or more (one gift per customer). It is first come, first serve, and quantities are limited.

Create Foam Block Mosaics – November 25, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Down Jersey Folklife Center

Trim Our Tree (create ornaments using a variety of craft items) – November 25 and 26. 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Craft Studio.

December activities include:

Edible Ornaments For Your Winter Garden Residents – December 2. 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Museum of American Glass.

Create A Carnevale Mask – December 2. 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Down Jersey Folklife Center.

Trim Our Tree (create ornaments using a variety of craft items) – December 2 and 3. 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Craft Studio.

Create A Miniature Potpourri Wreath For Your Home – December 3. 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Museum of American Glass.

Cinnamon Dough Ornaments – December 9. 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Museum of American Glass.

Create Foam Block Mosaics – December 9. 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Down Jersey Folklife Center.

Trim Our Tree (create ornaments using a variety of craft items) – December 9 and 10. 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Craft Studio.

Polymer Clay Ornaments – December 10. 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Museum of American Glass.

Create A Candle Ring From Natural Greens and Cones - December 16. 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Museum of American Glass.

Create A Carnevale Mask – December 16. 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Down Jersey Folklife Center.

Trim Our Tree (create ornaments using a variety of craft items) – December 16 and 17. 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Craft Studio.

Activities are included with the price of admission. $10.00 Adults, $9.00 Senior Adults and $7.00 Students. Children five and under are free. Free to shop and stroll.

WheatonArts will be open Tuesday through Sunday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., through December 31. Closed Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day and New Year's Day.
