WHEATON VILLAGE ANNOUNCES NEW BOARD OF TRUSTEES APPOINTMENTS

MILLVILLE, NJ - Wheaton Village recently announced the appointment of six new members to the Board of Trustees.

James F. Quinn currently serves as the mayor of Millville and the Director of Public Affairs. He was elected to an unprecedented third term in May 2005. Quinn is also president/owner of Quinn Broadcasting that includes the Cable Channel Two and WMVB 1040AM radio, a company he founded in 1977. He lives in Millville.

Will Dexter is a studio artist. He is co-founder of Taylor Backes Glass Studios with Karla Trinkley located in Boyertown, PA. Dexter’s work has been exhibited throughout the world and is in permanent museum collections including the Philadelphia Museum of Art, Corning Museum of Glass, Corning, NY, Galerie International Du Verre, Biot, France, and the Museum of American Glass, Millville, NJ.

Patrick T. Finnegan is the vice president Information Systems for South Jersey Industries in Holsom, NJ. He serves as an executive board member for the Southern New Jersey Boy Scouts of America and chairman of this organization’s technology committee. A Berlin, NJ resident, Finnegan was a member of the Berlin Borough Council from 1993 to 1997 and the Berlin Borough Planning/Zoning Board from 1997 to 2000.

Glass artist, Paul Stankard, is known internationally for his nature-themed paperweights and botanical glass sculptures. A 1963 graduate of Salem Community College in Carney’s Point, NJ, he teaches an advanced course in glass art each semester at his alma mater. In addition, he has played a key role in the development of a certificate program in glass art at the college. Stankard, who served on the Wheaton Village Board of Trustees from 1989 to 2004, resides in Mantua, NJ.

Richard Watson, a Medford, NJ resident, is past president of Charles M. Watson Co., electrical and general contractors, Philadelphia, PA. An early American glass collector, Watson serves on the Federation of Historical Bottle Collectors board of directors as historian. He formerly served on the Wheaton Village Board of Trustees from 1995 to 2003.

Larry Merighi is a partner in Manders/Merighi Associates, an architectural firm in Vineland, NJ. Merighi also serves as treasurer for the Creative Glass Center of America Board of Trustees. He is a member of the Clay College (Cumberland County College) Advisory Board, Vineland Chamber of Commerce and the Boy Scouts of America. Merighi is also a former Wheaton Village Board of Trustees member who served from 1992 to 2003. He lives in Vineland.

Wheaton Village’s mission is to engage artists and audiences in an evolving exploration of creativity. The Village is an internationally acclaimed center for the creation and enjoyment of glass, ceramics and other fine and traditional crafts, as well as a major community resource providing a unique teaching environment, innovative educational programs and facilities for artists that are not available anywhere else in Southern New Jersey. Recognized as a “Major Impact Organization” by the New Jersey State Council on the Arts, the Village serves approximately 65,000 visitors annually.
