THE GALLERY OF FINE CRAFT AT WHEATON VILLAGE PRESENTS “2005 FELLOWS” EXHIBIT
MILLVILLE, NJ - The Gallery of Fine Craft at Wheaton Village presents, “2005 Fellows,” a new exhibit showcasing current work by those artists selected as this year’s Creative Glass Center of America Fellows.
The exhibit opens January 28 and continues through May 1. The participating Fellows are:
Session I, January 17 to April 15: Anthony Cioe (installation artist), Barrington, RI; Mayumi Miyake, (cast glass artist), Toyama, Japan; Elizabeth Swinburne (glassblower and cast glass artist), Amsterdam, Netherlands; and Tim Wagner, (cast glass artist) Washington, D.C.
Session II, May 2 to July 29: Emrys Berkower (glassblower), San Francisco, California; Daniel Cutrone (glassblower/pedestal artist), Philadelphia, PA, and Frida Fjellman (installation artist), Stockholm, Sweden.
Session III, August 29 to October 7: Ruth Allen (glassblower/cast glass/installation artist), Melbourne, Australia, and Megan Biddle (sculptor/installation artist), Richmond, VA.
Session IV, October 17 to November 25: Jamie Harris (glassblower/pedestal artist), New York, NY; and Elizabeth Perkins (installation artist), Bumpass, VA.
This Creative Glass Center of America Fellowship Program offers artists one-of-a-kind opportunities to concentrate on developing and refining techniques towards new or expanded work. Emerging and professional artists are given unrestricted access to the Glass Studio in the T. C. Wheaton Glass Factory and materials for creating blown, cast and kiln-formed glass. The program has serviced glass artists and the arts community for over 20 years. Over 225 professional and emerging artists have been recipients of a CGCA fellowship, 185 from the U.S. and over 15 foreign countries.
The Gallery features fine American crafts and one-of-a-kind contemporary works in all media.
Admission to The Gallery is free except during outdoor special events. Hours: Open Friday, Saturday and Sunday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., in January, February and March. Closed Easter Sunday. Open Tuesday through Sunday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., April 1 to December 31.
