2005 Fellows Selected

THE CREATIVE GLASS CENTER OF AMERICA AT WHEATON VILLAGE ANNOUNCES 2005 FELLOWS

MILLVILLE, NJ - Twelve artists were selected as 2005 Creative Glass Center of America Fellows (CGCA). This program offers artists one-of-a-kind opportunities to concentrate on developing and refining techniques towards new or expanded work. Emerging and professional artists are given unrestricted access to the Glass Studio in the T. C. Wheaton Glass Factory and materials for creating blown, cast and kiln-formed glass.

Session I: January 17 to April 15 - Anthony Cioe, Barrington, RI, Mayumi Miyake, Toyama, Japan, Elizabeth Swinburne, Amsterdam, Netherlands, and Tim Wagner, Washington, D.C. Slide show and demonstration of their work on February 11 at 7 p.m. in the Glass Studio. Free admission.

Session II:

May 2 to July 29 - Emrys Berkower, San Francisco, CA, Kanik Chung, Brooklyn, NY, Daniel Cutrone, Philadelphia, PA, and Frida Fjellman, Stockholm, Sweden. Slide show and demonstration on May 13 at 7 p.m. in the Glass Studio. Free admission. 

Session III: August 29 to October 7 – Megan Biddle, Richmond, VA, and Ruth Allen, Victoria, Australia. Slide show and demonstration on September 9 at 7 p.m. in the Glass Studio. Free admission.

Session IV: October 17 to December 25 – Jamie Harris, New York, NY, and Elizabeth Perkins, Bumpass, VA. Slide show and demonstration on November 25 at 7 p.m. in the Glass Studio. Free admission.

The CGCA has serviced glass artists and the arts community for over 20 years. Over 225 professional and emerging artists have been recipients of a CGCA fellowship, 185 from the U.S. and over 15 foreign countries.
