Contemporary Flamework Exhibition
March 28, 2009 - April 19, 2009
The
Gallery annually displays works at Salem Community College by the
featured artists of the college's International Flameworking
Conference. This exhibit and sale will include works by Shane Fero(Feature Artist), Paul
Stankard, Stankard Studio, Robert Mickelsen, Milon Townsend, Caitlin
& Marshall Hyde, Emilio Santini, Janis Miltenberger, Elizabeth
Mears, Suellen Fowler, Gateson Recko, Bandhu Dunham, and Steve
Sizelove. The work will range from unique goblets and perfume bottles
to one-of-a-kind sculptures.
Paul Stankard and Stankard Studio Exhibition
April 25 - May 31, 2009
Demonstration by Paul Stankard in the Glass Studio May 9th 1:30 pm, Reception May 9th, 4 to 7 pm
In May, Paul Stankard celebrates a 37 year association with
Wheaton Arts. With this exhibit Paul unveils his most recent work in
addition to early work from the 1970's and 1980's. These earlier works
include simplistic floral designs inside clear or transparent color
backgrounds. Some earlier pieces are faceted with windows reminiscent
of the traditional French style paperweights. Paul's new work will
include exciting new orb designs.

Reception Saturday, May 9, 4 - 7 pm.
Paul Stankard will demonstrate in the Glass Studio at 1:30 pm. A Meet-The-Artists Reception will take place in The Gallery of Fine Craft at 4pm.

Form in Motion II features Artist, Rufus Butler
Seder's, Lifetile Series. The Lifetile Series are optical murals that appear to come to life,
move, and
change when the observer travels by them. These lens-ribbed glass tiles
were originated by Rufus and he is the only artist in the world working
in the Lifetiles medium.
The exhibition will also feature mobiles, jewelry and glass
sculptures that depict motion.

The Gallery of Fine Craft presents unique handcrafted items in a variety of mediums for your Christmas, Hanakkah and other gift giving needs. “The Handcrafted Gift” will include handcrafted ornaments, made with a variety of materials and techniques. The Gallery will also feature metal wall sculptures, leather, stained glass, jewelry, pottery and contemporary glass.

Crafts of India - extended through December 24
To coincide with the Down Jersey Folklife Center's exhibition and festival The Gallery will exhibit and sell works crafted in India.
An eco-friendly exhibit with a focus on innovative designs in art created from recycled, repurposed and/or sustainable materials.
