Small Glass Sculpture 1970-1990
In today’s world where bigger is often considered better, it is intriguing to note the high caliber of talent and ingenuity that glass artists display in creating work on a small scale. Quality small work is as challenging to create as massive sculpture. This exhibit of over thirty small scale works from the Museum of American Glass’ permanent collection, illustrates that size constraints do not interfere with the scope of an artist’s vision. The exhibition is also a chance to look back to the beginnings of the Studio Glass Movement and observe how contemporary glass has evolved. The pieces presented in the exhibit prove that “good things” do, indeed, “come in small packages.”
