I (Merrianne Nichols) graduated from American University with a degree in Design. After college I wanted to work for myself, so I have been participating in juried art shows for over 35 years. I have always worked with leather, must be the smell! All of my designs are created solely by me.

I use smooth and hand textured leathers to create unique leather bags and belts. My textured leather is all created by me using handmade metal plates that are then pressed into the leather while it is wet. Then I color the leather to bring out the dimensions with different blends of leather dye. My bags are all original designs made by me, incorporating smooth and textured leather. I love the contrast between the smooth, silky leather and the hand-textured leather that has dimension when you touch it.
