Estonian Folk Dancers
Estonian Folk Dancers

The folk dance group was founded in 1949 and for more than 50 years was trained and directed by Milli Poidma. The Estonian folk dancers performed at all Estonian Festivals. Some of these were Estonian Independence Day Celebrations, Spring Festivals, around the bonfire Jaanipaeval (Mid-summer’s Eve). They were also invited to perform at many other locations to present the Estonian traditional dances for non-Estonian audiences: Cumberland County College, Bridgeton Folk Festival, Philadelphia International Folk Festival. The group has a rich repertoire including polka and fishermen dances.
