                               Special Presentation:

                                "The American/Japanese Glass Connection”   

    Michael Rogers will lead a panel of artists,

   educators, students and other participants who 

   have been active in both countries to discuss the

   cross-influences on glass art in these two leading

   centers of contemporary glass. Panelists include:

   MichaelSchunke, Alice Chappell, Etsuko Nishi, Erika

   Tada, Naomi Shioya and Jin Hongo.

  Curators Panel  -  “The Curators’ Match”

Moderator William Warmus has selected images of significant, at times iconic, artworks made from glass. He has asked the panel of museum curators to match a work of art from his or her museum (in any medium)  to the glass artwork, for display and discussion. The  curator will show side-by-side slides of the two works of art and explain the reasons for the curator’s match.Curators include: ScottErbes, Dr. Edmund Pillsbury, Susanne Frantz, Gay Taylor, and Jane Milosch.

  Keynote Presentation: "Seeing Sculpture in Glass"

  Phoebe Adams, noted artist and lecturer, will discuss

  her work as well as other  established  

  and younger sculptors who use glass in their work.

A.  CGCA Past Fellows Panel:

“Yesterday Today and Tomorrow”

Past Fellows will discuss the impact of their time spent at Wheaton on  their development as artists.   Robin Rice, Art Critic, will be moderating the panel of CGCA Alumni: Tim Wagner Jennifer Blazina, Willie Dexter, and Magan Stevens.


B. Curator/Artist Walks

An opportunity to interact with individual museum curators and glass artists who will lead small groups of collectors through the gallery and/or museum exhibits.  Curators/Artists include: Suzanne Frantz, Gay Taylor, Judith Schaechter, Walter Zimmerman, Nicole Chesney and Lisabeth Sterling.

C. How to Light Your Glass Collection

A presentation and demonstration of lighting by Warren Charter and Mark Sills of Charter-Sills & Associates.  Warren will also be available on Sunday for individual consultations.

<> D. The Secondary Market for Contemporary Art         
A panel discussing how to sell and buy contemporary glass on the secondary market - through galleries, auction and the internet.
Panelists include: Lewis Wexler, Ferdinand Hampson, Greg Kuharic, and Linda Moskowitz.  Moderated by Bruce Bendoff and Ralph Lowenbach.
