Friday, July 17

9:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Hands-On Glassmaking – Beadmaking, Bowl or Vase Making, Paperweight Making, and Casting. Artists will help you create your
own work. Additional fee required.

1:30 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. Ice Cream Social – Meet and Greet the Rising Stars. Sponsored by Frank Crystal & Company. Each of the Rising Stars will be introduced
and asked to give some brief remarks. This will be an opportunity for the attendees and artists to mingle in an informal setting.

3:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. Gallery Exhibit: “Impact: Creative Glass Center Alumni Biennial” Opening reception in The Gallery of Fine Craft.

5:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. Gallery Preview Reception – Cocktails and hors d’oeuvres catered by Feast Your Eyes, Philadelphia, PA. Silent Auction – A collection of gorgeous glass jewelry. Curated by Amye Gumbinner and Barbara Boroff.

Saturday, July 18

8:00 a.m. – 8:30 a.m. Arrival and Continental Breakfast

8:30 a.m. – 8:45 a.m. Welcoming Remarks

8:50 a.m. – 9:50 a.m. Collaborating Couples – Our demonstrators, Sibylle Peretti, Stephen Paul Day, Marc Petrovic and Kari Russell-Pool will discuss their separate and joint artistic works and the benefits and challenges
of artists living and working together.

10:00 a.m. – 11:20 a.m. “Glass in 2020: A Gaze into the Crystal Ball” Featured Speaker, renowned critic and writer, James Yood. Following the presentation, James Yood will moderate a panel of museum curators and writers on the future of contemporary glass.

10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. Gallery Exhibition Open – 18 exhibiting galleries from the United States Canada, Israel and the Czech Republic.

10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Guest Artist Demonstrations – Rotating schedule: Stephen Paul Day, Sibylle Peretti, Marc Petrovic and Kari Russell-Pool.

11:30 a.m. – 12:30 a.m. “Collectors’ Shopping Spree” – A panel of collectors will “shop” the gallery exhibits, with cameras in hand, to assemble and present a
$1,000,000 collection.

12:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. Lunch (Pick-Up) – There will be some free time for shopping at the galleries and the WheatonArts shops, visiting the Museum and/or seeing
the demonstrations.

2:30 p.m. – 3:30 p.m. Breakout Sessions
A. Who Really Made It? – Writer and critic, Robin Rice, leads a panel of
fabricators and assistants who have worked for other artists, and artists who
have employed them.
B. Curator/Artist Walks – An opportunity to interact with individual museum
curators or glass artists who will lead small groups of collectors through the
museum exhibit.
C. Centers of Glass – A presentation by representatives from major glass
centers in the U.S. – Corning Glass Studio, Penland, Pittsburgh Glass Studio,
Urban Glass, and WheatonArts.
D. Lighting and Displaying Your Collection – Brad Pressman of Design
Impulse will demonstrate the latest techniques in lighting and displays.

3:45 p.m. – 4:45 p.m. Breakout Sessions Repeated

6:00 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. Museum Reception – Cocktails and hors d’oeuvres, catered by Feast Your Eyes. Honoring the Demonstrating Artists and Rising Stars who will have
their work on display in the Museum.

7:30 p.m. Dinner– Catered by Feast Your Eyes
The Millville Rose Society Award Recipients: Gay LeCleire Taylor and Joel Philip Myers
FUNraising Auction – Auctioneer from Bonhams. An auction of works of glass art created by our Rising Stars, plus a number of interesting experiences.

Sunday, July 19
9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. Hot Glass Demonstrations – Private demonstrations for weekend registrants only. Continental breakfast provided.

11:15 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. The GlassWeekend Relay Competition –Two teams of artists (4 to a
team), including some of our Rising Stars, will compete in creating two collaborative pieces of glass art. Each team member will have 15 minutes to add his or her individual artistic contribution to the team’s piece in progress. The finished pieces will be auctioned, and the audience will select the winning team by the highest bid. Come and root for your favorite team.

11:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. Gallery Exhibition Open (Event Center)
