Angus Powers studied glass and mixed media sculpture at Alfred University
in New York State. After receiving his BFA in 2000, he moved to Philadelphia
to participate in the glass MFA program at Tyler School of Art. Shortly
after receiving his MFA in 2002, he joined the faculty at Tyler School of
Art and has begun teaching sculpture in the freshman foundation program. He
also teaches classes and private lessons in glassblowing at Hot Soup in Olde
City, Philadelphia and the Crefeld School in Chesnut Hill, PA. Glass is
Powers’ primary medium, although he frequently incorporates mixed media
elements into his works. His work combines humor and commentary into
functional and installation art.
