Past Fellows
Theresa Batty received a BFA from Evergreen State College after studying
at L’ecole Des Beaux Arts, Lyon France with an emphasis in film and
photography. She pursued post-graduate work in sculpture with scholarships
to Pratt Fine Arts Center and Pilchuck Glass School. Batty received a
"Special Student" scholarship to Konstfack Academy of Fine Art & Design
in Stockholm, Sweden 1997. She has been working with Bertil Vallien since
1992, assisting with his teaching projects and many casting projects. She
was born in Calgary, Alberta, Canada and remains a Canadian citizen although
she now resides in Seattle. Batty teaches glass casting at Pratt Fine Arts
Center and the Borhnolm Glass and Ceramic School in Borhnolm, Denmark. She
is also an avid rower and has been competing since 1985.
