Saman Kalantari
He got his B.A. in foreign language from Azad university in 1994.Saman started working as a ceramic artist since 1992 and has participated in several exhibitions both single and group shows.He fled his country in 2004 and since then has been living in Italy as a political refugee. In 2005 he began a two-year course at Vetroricerca Glas & Modern in Bolzano and discovered a new medium : “Glass” which was the right material to describe his social and political experiences of life both in Iran and in Europe . In 2007 he got his diploma and since then lives as a part-time glass artist. He won the Bullseye "new comer award from E -merge 2008 in the United States.
Glasshouse,an international magazine for studioglass ,has recently published an article on Saman's glasswork .(glashaus 3/2009).
