See over 250 examples of quilters art, from traditional
bed quilts to contemporary wall hangings. Presented by The Garden Patch
Quilters (National Quilting Association Chapter 541), the show is the largest
judged quilt show in
Special exhibits are “The South Jersey Crazy Quilt Guild”
and “The Garden Patch Challenge.” The raffle quilt, “The Celtic Garden,” is
queen size, hand-appliquéd and hand-quilted. Tickets cost $1.00.
Show judge, Stacey Koehler, is a National Quilting
Association certified judge, teacher and quilt designer. Koehler’s judging
opportunities have included “Quilts on the Bay” in
Quilts will be judged in nine categories divided by
techniques. Awards include first, second and third in each category, “Judge’s
Choice” and “Viewer’s Choice.” The “Best in Show” award is a one-of-a-kind,
blown glass trophy created by WheatonArts artist Don Friel. Schools or children
up to 16 years old are encouraged to enter quilts.
In addition, the show offers a vendor mall, boutique
table, Chinese Auction, and Sit and Stitch. Door prizes will be drawn every
hour. Quilting demonstrations will take place every hour from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
on March 15, and noon to 4 p.m. on March 16.
