“A GARDEN OF QUILTS” QUILT SHOW
March 15 and 16       10am to 5pm

See over 250 examples of quilters art, from traditional bed quilts to contemporary wall hangings. Presented by The Garden Patch Quilters (National Quilting Association Chapter 541), the show is the largest judged quilt show in South Jersey.

Special exhibits are “The South Jersey Crazy Quilt Guild” and “The Garden Patch Challenge.” The raffle quilt, “The Celtic Garden,” is queen size, hand-appliquéd and hand-quilted. Tickets cost $1.00.

Show judge, Stacey Koehler, is a National Quilting Association certified judge, teacher and quilt designer. Koehler’s judging opportunities have included “Quilts on the Bay” in Annapolis, MD, and the 36th Annual NQA Quilt Show in Columbus, OH. She has lectured at several shows and guilds. Her patterns have been published in Quiltmaker Magazine.

Quilts will be judged in nine categories divided by techniques. Awards include first, second and third in each category, “Judge’s Choice” and “Viewer’s Choice.” The “Best in Show” award is a one-of-a-kind, blown glass trophy created by WheatonArts artist Don Friel. Schools or children up to 16 years old are encouraged to enter quilts.

In addition, the show offers a vendor mall, boutique table, Chinese Auction, and Sit and Stitch. Door prizes will be drawn every hour. Quilting demonstrations will take place every hour from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on March 15, and noon to 4 p.m. on March 16.
