The highly anticipated sale features discounts of 30% to 70% off original prices on a wide variety of brand new WheatonArts glass prototypes, seconds, and overstocks, along with individual works made by the WheatonArts’ glass studio artists. In addition to the glass selection, pottery by artist Terry Plasket and the WheatonArts’ ceramic studio artists will be available for purchase. Studio glass by Vermont-based artists Melanie and David Leppla will be on sale as well. WheatonArts members are invited to a special Members-Only Preview at 9:30 a.m. on Friday, November 24.

WheatonArts is waiving admission through its initiative Wheaton Wide Open for the first weekend of the Holiday Studio Sale, Friday, November 24 through Sunday, November 26. Visitors are invited to the WheatonArts Glass Studio to watch the annual “Big Glass Blast” event happening on Friday, November 24. At this popular event, several students and community members team up with the WheatonArts’ glass studio artists to design and create large-scale holiday-themed glass objects between 11:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Visitors will have a chance to see past years objects on display as well, including the record-breaking giant glass ornament, glass fruitcake, and the world’s largest glass turkey drumstick. The event and work produced during it exemplify the amazing feats of teamwork, skill, and the best of the WheatonArts holiday spirit. Additionally, the Museum of American Glass, Artist Studios, and Museum Shops will be open free of charge during the first full weekend of the Holiday Studio Sale.

“Our members and visitors look forward to this sale every year because it’s easy to find unique items and artworks for everyone on their shopping list”, said Chief Operating Officer, Cathy Nolan. “The magic happening in the Glass Studio quickly becomes a holiday tradition for many families”.
