Andy Smith Photography
I have been a professional nature photographer since 2005 following a 35-year career in the church doing socially responsible investing. My passion for photography began early in life and I have thousands of images from around the world. As I looked at my abilities and interest after leaving my work for the church I decided to turn to nature photography, finding it consistent with my previous work as a minister, ethicist, and social activist. My mission is to bring people in touch with the beauty of the natural world so that they are inspired to preserve and protect this treasure. All my work is digital. For shows I present gallery wrapped canvases and paper prints. I do everything myself from start to finish, taking the image, processing it on the computer, printing it, coating and stretching the canvas and making the stretcher bars from stock. I can print and finish images up to 40×60 inches but seldom have them that large at shows. My work is in Twenty-Two Gallery in Philadelphia where I am a full member, Berwyn Art Gallery in Berwyn, PA, and in 49 Almshouse, a restaurant in Richboro PA where I have 15 large canvases.
